Happy Beginnings

  In the search for a new pet, I opted for a rabbit (as I've had them in the past). Several agencies were reviewed and several different rabbits were on my list to visit. CAP had 4 rabbits at the time but 2 I was wanting to see. Mocha was my 2nd choice (by his photo online). When we reached CAP (over an hour away), the one was adopted. However, as SOON as I I saw Mocha, I KNEW it was meant to be. He is the sweetest, most curious rabbit. But loves to just be held and pet at bedtime! Thanks to all that work/volunteer/support CAP!

  Our 14 year old dog had recently passed away and the house felt so quiet so we were so happy when we found Milo at CAP. He has a lot of puppy energy still so I have an exercise buddy and he follows me everywhere. We think he is adjusting just wonderfully and hopefully realizes this is his forever home. Thank you to CAP for all you for all the animals that need good homes.

 Nyx is such a fun and loving addition to our family. She is now napping next to our senior pup, and starting to play with our doberman. She likes to come in for quick snuggles then darts off. We all love staring at her as she explores her new forever home. We love her so much!

  My Shadow was adopted as Wednesday. She had quite the rep at CAP. She was a tough cookie and feisty! She took right to her new house and has settled in. She truly rules the roost. Still a little crazy and a lot cuddly.

 She was originally found as a stray as a puppy then adopted and returned then adopted again but abandoned at another shelter. She was then scanned for a chip then it was discovered the chip was registered to CAPS so she was returned there then was in a foster home. I went CAPS originally to drop off a bag of donations but since i was signed in i decided to walk around and look at the dogs. My family was looking for a dog and had found one that we loved but unfortunately was already adopted. I walked into the last room in the shelter and in one of the last kennels i saw topaz and immediately fell in love and knew i had to meet her. When we met in the visitation room i knew I had to take her home so I got approval from the household and after meeting my dog & it going great, she came home with me. It was originally said she was dog selective and needed a slow introduction but she was just misunderstood because she is leash reactive. However she’s really just a puppy that needs to learn how to dog from other dogs. Luckily her new fur sister turned out to be the perfect match she needed and now she has many furriends that she regularly plays with. She’s so silly and perfect and we’re so happy to have found her.

   I saw this little guy's photo online and immediately had to go meet him. He's so full of personality and loves everything he has. He's a monster, snuggle bug, and comedian all wrapped into one cute puppy. We can't imagine our family without him.

 We adopted PeeWee (white and tan) on Nov. 5, 2022. As soon as we saw his picture on the adoption page the night before, we knew he was the one! From the minute he was put into my arms, I knew he was going to be coming home with me. Even though it’s only been shy of 3 weeks, his personality as leaped right on out! If PeeWee isn’t barking and running around with his new brother, he is playing with all of his favorite toys, or cuddling with someone for a nap! He has found his furever home, and I am so happy it’s with us !

     I just want to THANK the kind staff and helpers at CAP. My brother adopted a year and a half ago and got Jester. He said what a great place CAP was, and the same folks were there when we came back and adopted Cream. Now Phoebe. We can tell and see signs of prior abuse, as she cowers when you go to pet her. We don't understand how a human can be so cruel and leave this precious dog and her sister on your doorstep, but WE ARE GLAD THEY DID. Phoebe and Jester are getting a long great. She is such a sweetheart of a dog, and she will have free roam of the house. She will never no another cruel human! Thank you all again for the work that you do at CAP. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE, and you helped US make a difference as well!

Maple was a stray turned into CAP with heartworm. She went through treatment with fosters and was clearly loved and well taken care of by CAP staff and the fosters. As a spaniel she has a tendency to consume soft materials, which got her into trouble at CAP and she had to have exploratory surgery. The clinic did a wonderful job with her surgery! She's well now and teaching her what to consume and what not is a work in progress. She's adorable, has a natural snort, snuggles expertly, and is settling in with her two new sisters. She has a round cell tumor which cannot be operated on for six months due to her heartworm treatment, so she qualified under Special Needs adoption. West Houston Subaru sponsored her adoption and we are so grateful! We're monitoring the issue and will have it removed in January. Maple enjoys playing with toys, chewing, giving kisses, chasing and being chased, as well as a good nap. Thanks to CAP's kennel staff, workup crew, foster care department, foster parents, clinic staff and everyone involved in Maple's care! Y'all are the best!

  Belly se convirtió en lo más importante para mí. Jamás había conocido una gatita tan cariñosa como ella. Definitivamente la mejor decisión que pude haber hecho. (Belly became the most important thing for me. I had never met a kitten as affectionate as her. Definitely the best) decision I could have made.
