Amos  Amos has been making incredible progress since arriving home just over 4 months ago! He joined the family with no training and now happily walks on lead, rests in his crate, relaxes calmly for nail trims, teeth cleaning and brushing. We also just found out that he earned his very first title after passing his Rally-FrEe Novice Skills Test with a very respectable 142/150! This brings him one step closer to our goal of being a Musical Freestyle dog like his brother, Augie, who was also adopted from CAP in 2015. Here’s Amos in all of his cuteness https://youtu.be/Uu0Vy7kVQ-E And a recent picture of all 3 CAP alum training with props ❤️ Big thank you to everyone at CAP for filling my life with smiles, love and laughter!

Reya   I adopted my forever friend on 04-21-21 after losing our family dog. I would have never of known that she was going to be the best thing that has happened to me. She was the sweetest puppy! The world was so new to her and she was willing to take on any new challenge. We spent hours and hours together which made us the best of friends. She showed me what it was like to have a best friend by my side every day. I am so thankful for the CAP shelter and letting me take home the sweetest girl. She will forever be loved and cherished by our family.

Dexter1  Dexter2 Our kids read to the CAP animals every week ago it was hard not to want to take them all home! We were looking for a puppy that would work with our family, and we found Dexter! It's only been a few weeks but he is doing great and is very smart! We love him so much!

Webster 1  Webster 2  Hi my name is Webster. CAP used to call me Totter. My Mommy picked my name because I'm missing a digit on my foot and it looks like I have a webbed paw. Plus I can be a little monster since I'm still a puppy - so taaa daaaa now I'm "Webster". I'm pretty sure I know my name, but sometimes I pretend not to so I can sniff stinky spots outside longer. I was 3 1/2 mo's old when Mommy and I picked each at CAP. The car ride home that day was long but I wasn't scared at all. I knew I was going to be happy with my new person. I enjoy car rides all the time - but since I'm still small, Mommy must help me get in.

I was a little nervous when I got to my new home. Mommy had a BIG black doggie already - she said he's a Standard Poodle - whatever that is - named Sully. Sully is very nice to me and so much fun to play with. Everyday, we wrestle on the floor a lot and tug on toys together. But my favorite part is playing tag with him in the back yard. I used to gobble up my food and then dash over to his bowl during meals - so Mommy taught me to sit and wait. Sully doesn't leave any leftovers though, but I like to wait anyway, so we can play again right after. Sully is my new BFF - I love him to pieces ... I think he loves me too. When Mommy to me to the doctor for a check up, by myself, Sully was excited to see me when we came back home. We usually go everywhere together.
Oh, Oh Oh! Mommy has this other fuzzy thing at home - she said it's a kitty cat. I really want to play with it cause he's about my size but he doesn't seem to be the playing type. He only lets me sniff him. He gives me head butts every now and then and tail rubs, too, sometimes. The kitty smacked me a couple times cause I was too excited. Maybe in time we can snuggle together.
Mommy taught me how to walk on a leash. I loooove going for walks. When the water comes from the sky or the houses use those watery thingies to wet their grass, it leaves puddles along the curb and I get a special thrill splashing in the water. Mommy laugh at me when I splash. I hope she will buy me a doggie pool next season. Mommy fusses at Sully for teaching me bad walking habits - like getting overly excited and barking at other passing dogs. I'm sure Mommy is plotting, right now, on how to get us to stop that. Just the same, it's fun to explore different stinky spots and see other things nearby.

Mommy doesn't like it when I potty in the house, I try really hard not to anymore. Most of the time I do very good - or so Mommy says. She gives me biiiig cookies when I go poopie outside and smaller cookies when I pee outside. How did she knows I love cookies?! Most days Mommy and I are in sync really good and I don't have accidents. But I'm still learning how to tell her I need to go potty.

Lately Mommy is been bribing me with cookies to do things. She tells me to sit. I sit. I get a cookie. Did I tell you I liiike cookies? She tells me to stay or come and I get affection. I guess those are important to know. I want to make her happy, so I’ll keep at it as long as she keeps giving me COOKIES!! She likes it when I give her long, slow kisses on her arms and hands. She gives me lots of hugs and kisses, too. I feel happy to have found a good person and a safe place to live, with lots of love, playtime and COOKIES!

Brave1  Brave2 Brave1 1We heard about this German Shepherd puppy through our Neighborhood app. He had been abandoned in the Nottingham subdivision and so we visited CAP; love at first sight. Brave Puppy is now a very happy member of our family.

Bitsy1  Bitsy2 Bitsy has done well at getting us trained! It was a tough job for her, but she now has trained us to fetch her meals on time, move her favorite bed around the house to catch the perfect angle of sunshine, throw her frisbee, cheer when she chases lizards in the backyard, and reload her kongs with treats. We all go for walks twice a day and Bitsy’s favorite place is the nearby park where she greets all the ducks and neighbor dogs, and chases the squirrels away. We’re all happy we found each other at CAP. Bitsy recently celebrated her fourth birthday.

Layla2 2 Layla1 2  I adopted Layla in 2017 and I feel so blessed to have her every single day. I feel like she was waiting just for me to come get her and when I brought her home, it’s like she knew she was in her furever home this time. She is so incredibly loved.

62646a128faa9 Charlie and Toby  I had been visiting CAP for a few weeks, and when I met Charlie, I fell in love! Our whole family, even our cat Toby, is enjoying this sweep puppy's energy and loving heart! 62646a12842f5 Charlie

20220316 214818  image0000032Teddy (formerly Mr. Noodles) has settled in well and enjoys teaching us things every day. So far we've learned that baby gates are a suggestion and the top of my desk is not off limits, that a lop can fit under the TV stand if he tries, and that hay mats are much preferred to shavings. Teddy enjoys listening to the radio, doing zoomies around the living room and trying new foods (he has a VERY healthy appetite and so far likes kale, parsley, cilantro, baby spring mix salad, and he will run laps of joy carrying a baby carrot if he's given one). He loves to be present for whatever is happening and will jump up on the couch or bed to see what we're doing. His literbox skills have earned him a lot of freedom though we're still supervising his outings to make sure he doesn't get into anything he shouldn't. He can be assertive and has head-butted my husband and taken my phone out of my hand ("no pictures, more petting!") It's been great to see his personality more as he became comfortable with his new home.

This month we took him to the vet for a Teddy Pedi (his nails were getting a bit long) and the staff were so taken with how chill he was. We celebrated his first birthday on the 16th with a new foraging toy and a special cake (he loves the dried carrot and coconut "sprinkles). He continues to find ways to be involved in whatever we're doing; he runs laps down the hall and around the room when my husband is playing racing simulator games ("here comes Bun-zo Furr-ari!") and he always finds a spot to lounge where he can watch us (and the TV if we've got Netflix on). It's been a delight to have him keep me company while I work, (his motto is less zoom more zoomies) but having him remind me to take breaks has really helped reduce my stress.

Again, we thank the wonderful staff at CAP for taking the time to help us find the perfect pet and be fully prepared to bring him home. Your organization means everything to the lives you save and the joy they bring.

6249c46a45bab 7D064934 4B33 4AA7 8F48 4CD4EE9B58FA We got little Nova just about two weeks ago and she is just living her best life! It took a few days for her brother Shadow, another CAPS adoptee, to come around but as you can see now they are like peas and carrots. She is such a character! Fearless, funny and loves to snuggle. She also loves to run and run in the yard. We’re so thankful for CAPS for both our fur babies.6249c46a3d710 0F3E0F74 DCA3 49EC 8EE2 E627093FB1E5
