Citizens for Animal Protection, CAP, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Net proceeds generated from all youth programs go directly to the dogs, cats, and other small animals in our care. This includes the purchase of food, medical supplies, heartworm and medical treatments and other items needed to care for the animals we receive every day. We closely monitor our expenses and seek sponsorships for supplies and expenses so that we may contribute even more to the animals cared for at our shelter. CAP is also dedicated to providing humane education and community outreach programs to encourage love and respect for all animals. CAP does not supply any food or food related items such as plates, cups, utensils, napkins, etc. for the party. And you are not required to order any food through us. You may choose to bring whatever kind of food/snacks you wish. If you are considering pizza, we get delivery from Papa John's pizza on Mason road at 1514 S. Mason Road all the time. Their number is 281-395-0100 and the CAP Animal Shelter address is 17555 Katy Freeway. And if you use code "CAP" when ordering they will donate 20% back to the CAP Shelter. We also suggest that you bring a lighter if you plan to light a candle on a cake.
Please note: All our children's programs are designed for kids ages 6 and up. We find that kids younger than six do not comprehend our educational lessons or activities and can struggle to read animal body language. We can not risk children being hurt because of an over stimulated animal. However, we understand that families attend our birthday parties and therefore we require that any child under the age of 6 brought to the CAP Animal Shelter be accompanied by a dedicated adult chaperone at ALL times understanding that they will not be supervised by CAP staff.
