Summer Camp Application
  1. CAP Kids & Kritters Camp is for boys and girls enrolled in grades second through sixth between the ages of 7-13 years old. Each week-long session takes place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the CAP Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center located on I -10 west near Barker-Cypress.

    Fur-ever Friends & Humane Heroes camps are $200 per child, per session; all other camps are $250 per child, per session

  15. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Registration for a particular session is not guaranteed until confirmed by CAP staff. You will receive a letter of confirmation when your registration is accepted. CAP Meow Bow-Wow Buddies Kids Club members are allowed to register one week early.

  55. In Case of Illness:

    If a child is sick with a communicable disease or with a fever, the child cannot attend camp for that day. If the illness persists for more than one day, a medical release must be turned in by the parent/guardian before the child returns back to camp. In the event that a child in unable to return to complete the camp there will be no refunds.

    I do hereby give the staff of Citizens for Animal Protection permission to seek medical attention from either a private doctor or the nearest hospital. I designate the staff of Citizens for Animal Protection to act on my behalf in seeking medical attention and any other issues involving the welfare of my child. I understand every attempt will be made to contact me by Citizens for Animal Protection staff. By my signature and of my own free will, I represent that: (1) I am the parent/guardian of the child and that all information provided above is true. (2) I agree to the terms and the conditions set out above, including the camp rules, and (3) that I do hereby release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Citizens for Animal Protection from any and all claims and demands, cost or expenses arising out of any injuries or damage sustained by the child or me.

  72. General Camp Rules

    Campers are expected to behave appropriately. Rules are posted in the classrooms and are reviewed with the campers each morning. In the event a child is disruptive, a time-out may be used. If disruptive behavior continues or is severe, the parent will be called to help find a solution. If improvement is not realized, parent/guardian will be contacted and asked to pick up the camper. At our discretion, your child may be allowed to return to camp the following day.

    - Listen and follow instructions
    - Participate in camp activities
    - Hands, feet and objects to yourself
    - No cell phone use during camp
    - Never go anywhere without your Camp Counselor
    - Show respect for others – All CAP staff, fellow campers and animals
    - Respect all property and show responsibility for yourself and your actions
    - Have FUN!

    Consequences of Breaking Camp Rules:

    - First offense: Verbal warning from Camp Counselor
    - Second offense: Age-appropriate time out; follow-up note sent home to parent/guardian
    - Third offense: Repeat time-out; a follow-up call and/or meeting with parent/guardian
    - Fourth offense: Removal from camp; no refund will be given in this occurrence In the event of extreme infractions, the CAP reserves the right to remove a camper from the program immediately without prior warnings. In the event of a termination from the program, the parent/guardian will be notified personally. The day of such action will be the last date the child is allowed to attend. There will be no refunds.

    Please note: CAP is not a licensed child care facility and is exempt from regulations from the TX Dept. of Family and Protective Services
