The Summer Special adoption fee for both cats and kittens is $79. (Adopt the second one for FREE!)
CAP has many wonderful cats and kittens available for adoption. Also, new animals arrive every day at the shelter, so our site features only a small number of our residents. For a real feline fandango, stop by the shelter, located at 11925 Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas.

Sergeant, #8930664 (shown in photo), and Keegan, #8841194 (red tabby and white), are friends from kittenhood, although not related. They are about a year old and still veand ry active. Both like to play, but Sergeant is very focused on playing with toys while his buddy Keegan prefers to have some lap time now and then. They find other cats interesting and are not aggressive toward them. You can adopt just one to fill your kitty needs, or adopt both if you'd like two cats who get along! This beautiful family was found abandoned and off to a rough start until a caring person took them to the shelter where fortunately a kind volunteer offered to foster them. They are now ready for their forever home. They are all sweet and lovable. Mama loves to be held and petted and will coo, purr and talk to you. She understands commands and would make an excellent indoor/outdoor pet. The wee ones, now 9 weeks old, are litterbox trained, use a scratch post and get along with other cats. They are the complete package! They are adorable, funny, will follow you around the house and get in the middle of everything you do and amuse you for hours on end. They are non-stop entertainment! My name is Edgar and I am about a year and a half old. I am a very lucky boy. My mom was a neighborhood cat, so I started life on the mean streets. When I was rescued, I was emaciated and near death from chronic digestive problems, and had lost about half my hair. Thanks to a wonderful vet who didn't give up on me, look at me now, a handsome and healthy guy with a beautiful coat! Because of my early health problems, though, I need to watch my diet carefully, and eat very carefully controlled amounts of food. For that reason, I need an inside-only home where I can be the only kitty, or where my owners are able to keep me separate for meals. I am cuddly and playful, enjoy curling up in my bed, love people and am fine with other cats as well. I'm afraid of dogs, though. I am on prescription food, FortiFlora supplement, and a small amount of prednisone (which I take like a champ) to keep my tummy from acting up. I'm already neutered, have all my claws and am litterbox trained. Do you think I could be the perfect cat for you? Baby is an 11-year old female brown tabby who is front-declawed, so she must be an indoor-only cat. She was brought to the shelter because the older cat in her house decided he didn’t like her anymore. She is very affectionate and gets along well with other cats. On 9-5-10 these cute KITTENS were about 8 weeks old and weigh 2 lbs. They are all litter box trained, domestic short hairs. They are all very playful and love to chase balls and climb on their cat tower. They also love to scratch their cardboard scratcher. There are very sweet and like being around people and being held. They love to play with each other and would likely adjust well to a home with other cats. They came into foster care because they were too young to be adopted and still needed some more time with their mom. Tucker is a male with a bobtail. He has two small grey markings on the top of his head. Jack is a male with a full tail. He has one patch of grey on the top of his head. Hannah is a female with a bobtail. She is all white. Her beautiful green eyes didn't show up in this picture. .. Baby is seven years old and been in a few different homes. She's still a bit playful, but mostly laid back, loving, and quietly content. Definately a lap cat, happy to be petted or just to fall asleep close by. She is front declawed and of a submissive temperament. That means she can't be with dominate cats or dogs and must be kept indoors. Baby would do best as the only cat in the home and having a 'gentle' dog friend is fine. Luby is a very cute Red Tabby, 13 weeks old, Domestic Medium Hair male, already neutered, litter box trained, and ready to go home with his forever family! He is good with gentle older kids to adults and needs a patient family to warm up to. Although he is shy at first, and dogs are a little scary for him, he loves playing with other cats and playing with his cat toys.
