Citizens for Animal Protection to Participate in 2014 ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon, Presented by Subaru

Community Support Needed to Find Homes for Animals and Save More Lives

Houston, Texas — Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) in Houston, Texas today announced that they have received grant funding to participate in the 2014 ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon event, (hashtag: #ASPCAmegamatch) presented by Subaru, which will take place October 17-19, 2014.

As part of the Mega Match-a-thon, the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) has provided grants to 33 organizations across the country to support large-scale adoption events held simultaneously at shelters nationwide in an effort to save more lives of shelter animals.

“The ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon is a great motivator for our staff and for the members of our community to help the many wonderful cats and dogs in our shelter find loving homes and enrich the lives of adopting families,” said JoAnne Jackson, director of operations for Citizens for Animal Protection. “Working together with West Houston Subaru, we have already saved thousands of animals and can continued to save thousands more through this event."

CAP is gearing up for the event, where they will offer fee-waived adoptions to approved applicants. There will also be lots of fun activities for adults and kids. As the event draws closer, you can visit the CAP website, for more information.

"On August 30 and 31, we hosted a mega fee-waived adoption event and placed 148 animals into forever homes. We hope to surpass this number in October and with the help of our partners and the community ...we can," added Jackson.
